On March 26, 2020, the Johns Hopkins University researchers showed the United States had more coronavirus cases than any other country. This was astounding, however, because of our extensive and continual COVID-19 data research, we were not surprised. Here at Clevyr, we have spent the last several weeks learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it is impacting our world. For us, that means understanding how it affects our employees, customers, and communities, and proactively making the necessary adjustments to our work and operations.

Clevyr remains focused on the health and safety of our employees, early during the spread of the virus in Oklahoma, after careful consideration, we decided to transition our team to working 100% remotely. Our staff has continued to provide uninterrupted, dependable service from home for almost two months.
Following CDC recommendations, we asked any employees who have traveled recently or have been exposed to others who have been diagnosed with the virus to self-quarantine for 14 days. We implemented a strict travel policy for our employees; we moved all meetings to virtual meetings. We have shared specific instructions with our employees on the importance of washing their hands, wearing a mask when needed, and staying at home if possible.
Families, businesses, and individuals are all feeling the effects of COVID-19. It can be difficult to find time and resources to give back to your community during the pandemic. We set up a support page on the popular website Ko-Fi, as a friendly way for the public to say “thank you” all for the price of a coffee. When you “Buy Us Coffee” the proceeds go directly to coffee for front line workers in Oklahoma City! During the month of April, we participated in a virtual meeting with the Oklahoma City Police Department's FACT Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) Class III. YLA takes juniors and seniors from local high schools and provides high-quality leadership training and mentoring by police officers and city leaders. In 2019, the teens raised funding to assist with Trauma Awareness and Resiliency for individuals dealing with PTSD and other traumatic experiences.
YLA Mission Statement:
“We as YLA Class III purpose ourselves to raising awareness, resources, and supporting programs that aid undocumented and unaccompanied youth in the OKC metropolitan area.”
Also, we banded together to help our neighbors by sharing a list of Oklahoma resources from mental health to child educational resources. During National Public Health Week, we recognized the need to support healthcare and frontline heroes and added a “Support for Healthcare Workers” resource section to show our care and gratitude to public health workers.
Our employees are the backbone of our organization. The “Buy Us Coffee” page also allows the community to leave feedback and encouraging notes for our team. Working from home can sometimes feel overwhelming and isolated, but when our employees see a positive note on the page, it brightens their day.
We hosted a webinar for our staff from Bryan Clifton discussing how to navigate uncertainties during this unpredictable time. The team learned a list of practical tools to utilize when reframing uncertainty into manageable sized chunks.

As soon as the World Health Organization began the press conferences about the possibility of a pandemic, our development team sprung into action. Creating the Clevyr Cares Coronavirus Dashboard & Resource Center became a top priority. We created the dashboard integrating real-time statistics and resources to help humanity stay aware of the pandemic. The dashboard sources intelligence directly from the John Hopkins University data, using API platforms updating every 5 minutes.

Our team is working diligently to provide the public and Oklahoma with unique ways to assess and manage risks. We are closely following the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidelines and recommendations on the steps we can take to help prevent the spread of the virus.
